2002, Arts & Business Council and Mercer Human Resource Consulting. The Council conducted this comprehensive study in 2002 to help arts institutions attract and retain a competitive workforce. This research analyzed and documented the human resources practices of the region's nonprofit arts and cultural industry, particularly emphasizing compensation and benefits within these institutions. As a result, this research better defined the cultural industry's competitive edge and established a benchmark for the area's arts sector, comparing it against other nonprofits in the region and arts and cultural nonprofits nationally.
